WSJ: The US will buy Ukrainian grain for more than 68 million
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will spend more than 68 million to buy Ukrainian grain. This was discovered by The Wall Street Journal.
In total, the state agency expects to receive 150,000 metric tons of wheat for the UN World Food Program. The purchased grain is planned to be sent to countries facing a food crisis.
Previously, the Joint Coordination Center (JCC), as part of the “goods agreement”, on August 7 allowed four ships with food to depart from Chernomorsk and Odessa.
On July 22, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN signed an agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain. The ceremony in Istanbul was attended by António Guterres, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov. The contract is valid for 120 days with the possibility of extension.
